New Dinosaur Species Found In Montana
A dinosaur skeleton found 24 years ago near Choteau has finally been identified as a new species that links North American dinosaurs with Asian dinosaurs. The Sound Of A Distant Rumble: Researchers Track Underwater Noise Gene
Underwater sound picked up by the network that monitors the globe for nuclear test explosions, enabled researchers to analyze the rupture as it progressed along the Sumatra Fault on December 26. The study found that the earthquake may have occurred in two distinct phases and points to the need for scientists and disaster response officials to have access to the monitoring data in real time.

Scientists Crack Code For Motor Neuron Wiring
Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) researchers have deciphered a key part of the regulatory code that governs how motor neurons in the spinal cord connect to specific target muscles in the limbs.

Biologists merge methods, results from different disciplines to find n
A growing number of scientists are merging methods and results from different disciplines to extract new meaning from old data, say researchers. As science becomes increasingly focused on new data, however, researchers who want to analyze previous findings may have a hard time getting funding and institutional support, the authors say. The authors argue for removing cultural and technological barriers to this process.

Discovery Of Novel Protein Offers Hope For Possible Parkinson’s Dise
Researchers have found an essential key to possibly cure Parkinson's disease. They have discovered that a novel protein -- known as protein kinase-C -- kills dopamine-producing cells in the brain.

Proteomics: First Genome Sequencing, Now Protein Mapping
Biologists still have no clear idea how many active genes there are coding for proteins in humans and other organisms, even though for some species the genomes have been completely sequenced. The field of proteomics aims to discover all the proteins produced by a given organism.
