This is akin to measuring the distance from New York to Los Angeles with an uncertainty of just 1 millimeter. The technique may have applications in nanotechnology, remote sensing and industries such as semiconductor fabrication. Sexual Problems Of Long-term Cancer Survivors Merit More Attention Long-term female survivors of genital-tract cancer were pleased with their cancer care but not with the emotional support and information they received about the effects of the disease and treatment on their sexuality. Three out of five said their physicians never brought up the effects on sexuality. Women who did report such a conversation were much less likely to have "complex sexual problems"at the time of the survey. Modeling Lung Cancer: New Mouse Model Validates Targeted Chemotherapeu In a new report in the February 15 issue of Genes and Development, Dr. Martin McMahon and colleagues present a novel mouse model of non-small cell lung cancer, which will serve as a useful tool to test the efficacy of novel chemotherapeutic drug therapies in the early stages of lung tumorigenesis. Their paper provides evidence to support the use of a relatively new class of drugs, called MEK inhibitors, for lung cancer patients whose tumors contain mutations in the BRaf gene.
