Taufa'ahau Tupou IV
Taufa'ahau Tupou IV (born
1918) has been the king of
Tonga since the death of his mother Salote Tupou III died in
1965.
He studied law in Australia, where he became the first Tongan graduate. Before he became King he had been a minister. He has great influence in the country, together with nobles, who control 70% of the Tongan Parliament.
